To help our research we used a website called thinkbox.tv to analyse adverts that were targeted at the same audience as ours, Business People. From this we found that:
Interests: Money, Gadgets, Success, Appearance, Health and Fashion
Priorities: Reputation (Professional) and Themselves
Finance: Economical, Fashion and Quality
Age Group: 25-40 years old (where majority advertise to)
Aspirations: Be the best and One step ahead of the crowd
Role Models: Lord Alan Sugar, Richard Branson, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates
From this information we were then able to really narrow our themes and style of the advert to something that was, clean, represented good quality and wealth, would show aspects of health and fashion as well as being something new and trendy that business people would want to aspire to have.
Coming up with names and slogans to match all of these characteristic was a tall order but we did manage a few:
H2Go
The Best Water
Number One Water
One Water
Top Drink
Thirst Water (First)
We really liked the idea of playing on the words, for instance H2Go, h2o being water, but with the go this then relates to the on the move nature business people have. However this is already a product in the making which we had no knowledge of, it was just that good of an idea! So our second choice was number one water as this has quite a direct link to the aspiring nature of being the best that our target market has. We also thought this was a good idea as we could change the word ‘Number’ to a ‘#’ which is also how you trend words in Twitter. Twitter and other social networking sites are huge these days and most companies have pages to help promote their companies. Therefore this could be very beneficial for our company as a form of free advertising and creating ‘buzz’ about our product!
Continuing with our brainstorm into slogans:
Drink the Best to be the Best
Be the Thirst (First)
Hydrate on the Move
Business Water for Busy People
We found coming up with catching and snappy slogans that people would remember a slight difficult, however as I mentioned before we loved the idea of playing on words so the one which stood out was “Be the Thirst” where the word ‘Thirst’ translates to mean ‘First’. This works so well because a characteristic of our target market was being the best and the first, but the word ‘thirst’ ties in with our product remarkably.
Final:
Product Name: #1water
Slogan: Be The Thirst
