Filming

So we’ve begun filming and all is happening as we wished, if not a little slow. After filming at a friend 18th birthday party we realised that its not just the content of the scenes but how they are filmed themselves to convey the feelings and story we desire. For exam a Dutch tilt shot works well when trying to represent disorientation (i.e. intoxicated).

From our research we know that social realist films often fall into the category of ‘arthouse cinema’. As of this we also need to make sure the scenes are set out just as we wish to produce an style that is typical of this genre. This involves controlling the depth of field, rule of thirds (scene position) and abstract representation. We hope to continue gathering the footage we need over the next few weeks and begin editing as soon as possible!
